Welcome to my food blog. I am passionate about food and drink, and like people, so the hospitality industry seemed the career for me.
I have worked in the industry for 25 years, for large corporates, big and small brands and single sites. There have been some highlights along the way, winning my rather large CEO’s body weight in Champagne one of them! I am particularly proud of opening a new concept restaurant in Wimbledon Village, with a Claudia Roden inspired menu and bringing the first wood burning oven to London.
I’m an indolent chef and use a blender wherever possible. A trip to A&E during my pizza chef days, after prepping jalapenos, makes me a bit cautious of knives, and jalapenos! I use a Bosch chopper. I will also look to minimise the number of steps in a recipe as it reduces my risk of forgetting something!
I support eating a balanced diet and though this food blog is about trends, it will state the nutritional facts so you can make an informed decision, and won’t focus on super foods.
When referencing supermarkets, I check out Waitrose, Sainsburys, Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Aldi and Ocado.
